WAYNESBURG, Pa. - The Frostburg State women's tennis team defeated non-conference opponent Waynesburg, 5-4, on Thursday afternoon. Sophomore Vicky Stafford (Lee, N.H./Oyster River) and junior Caroline Shedd (Middletown, Md./Middletown) each picked up two victories on the day.

Frostburg State has an overall record of 8-8 and a conference record of 5-2.

Senior Sarah Eisel (Frostburg, Md./Beall) and Stafford captured the number one doubles victory against Laura Garcia and Jessica Kody (8-3). In the number two doubles match, juniors Becky Cuddahee (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) and Monie Cuddahee (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) defeated Allie Horochak and Jess Mally with a score of 8-2. Shedd and sophomore Theresa Mills (Clear Spring, Md./Clear Spring) picked up the third doubles victory against Kelsey Diesel and Jenny McAndrews (9-7).

Shedd's second victory came in the number two singles match against Horochak with scores of 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. In the number three singles match, Stafford defeated Mally with scores of 6-0, 6-0.
