WEXFORD, Pa. - For the second year in a row, the Frostburg State women's tennis team captured second place at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships.

Penn State Behrend took home the AMCC Title for the fifth-straight year with 25 points. FSU had 19 followed by Penn State Altoona (10), Pitt-Bradford (5) and La Roche (4).
The Bobcats earned victories in No. 1 and No. 3 doubles and finished runner-up at No. 2 doubles. FSU also finished runner-up in five of the six singles matches.
The tandem of freshmen
Elly Dannenfelser (Joppa, Md./John Carroll) and
Megan Martin (Richmond, Va./Mills Goodwin) captured the No. 1 doubles title with a pair of 8-2 victories. In the second round, they downed Christina Shields and Devin Seymour of La Roche, while in the finals, Dannenfelser and Martin defeated Erica Christman/Stephanie Cattron of Penn State Behrend.
Junior
Monie Cuddahee (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) and freshman
Jannill Sites (Waynesboro, Pa./James Buchanan) took home the No. 3 doubles title with a 9-7 upset of the top seeded team of Karen Hobaugh/Allison Quigley of Behrend.
In No. 2 doubles, senior
Caroline Shedd (Middletown, Md. / Middletown) and junior
Vicky Stafford (Lee, N.H./Oyster River) earned second place after losing to Behrend's Hillary Lasher/Leslie Durante, 9-8.
In singles competition, Shedd lost in three sets in the No. 3 finals. She jumped out to an early lead over PSB's Lasher with a 6-3 win in the first set. However, Lasher rebounded and closed out the match with 7-5, 6-4 wins.
Senior
Liz Coblentz (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) lost in three sets to Behrend's Durante in No. 5 singles. Durante won the first set 6-0, but Coblentz evened the match with a 6-3 win in the second set. Durante earned the win with a hard fought 6-4 victory in the third set.
Martin finished second in the No. 4 singles match with a 7-6, 6-0 loss to the Lion's Christy Calvert. Martin won her second round match against Leslie Shallop of Pitt-Bradford 6-1, 6-4.
Dannenfelser and Sites finished runner-up in No. 1 and No. 6 singles competitions, respectively. Dannenfelser lost No. 1 in straight sets to PSB's Christman 6-3, 6-2. She earned a spot in the finals after defeating Melissa Barba of Penn State Altoona 6-3, 6-2 in the second round. Sites downed Ashley Bosco of PSA 7-5, 6-2 in the second round before falling to Hobaugh of Behrend 6-3, 6-0 in the finals.
In No. 2 singles, Stafford lost in the second round to Penn State Altoona's Emily Knott 2-6, 7-6, 6-1.
Frostburg State finishes the season with an overall record of 12-4 and a conference record of 9-1.
