LEXINGTON, Ky. - Frostburg State University volleyball senior Brooke Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) continues to collect awards this season and can now add All-American Honorable Mention honors to her list as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), Tuesday. Winterling is the first AVCA All-American in the volleyball program's history.

Last week, Winterling picked up three honors after being named to the AVCA Mid-Atlantic Region team and was selected as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Year for the third-straight season. Winterling was also placed on the 2009 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship Juniata Regional All-Tournament Team.

Winterling finished the season ranked second in the country in kills per set (4.79) and helped the Bobcats to 21st in the nation in kills per set (12.87). She led the AMCC and the Bobcats with a total of 575 kills and is FSU's career kills leader with 2,204. Winterling also finished her career as a Bobcat with 1,100 digs and 161 service aces.

She helped FSU to a 30-5 overall record, its third-straight AMCC Tournament title and third-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
