Swimming Falls to AMCC Opponent Penn State Behrend

FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State men's and women's swimming teams fell to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Penn State Behrend, Saturday afternoon. The women were edged out 104-94 while the men lost 105-88. 

Meet Results

Senior Thirza Roberto (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) and sophomore Arielle Harding (Damascus, Md./Good Counsel) each picked up two individual wins on the day for the Bobcat women.

Roberto picked up her wins in the 100-meter backstroke (1:12.53) and 100-meter breaststroke (1:23.31) while Harding's wins came in the 200-meter freestyle (2:19.94) and the 400-meter freestyle (5:02.12).

Freshman Alix Bunten (Herndon, Va./Herndon) captured first place in the 800-meter freestyle with a time of 10:54.03 and classmate Sam Mulvey (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) finished in first place in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 29.25. Bunten also placed second in the 100-meter butterfly (1:13.84) while Mulvey captured second in the 100-meter freestyle (1:04.84).

Frostburg State picked up another individual win in the women's 200-meter individual medley when freshman Jessica Rice (Grasonville, Md./Kent Island) touched the wall with a time of 2:50.28, edging out PSB opponent Heather Vickery by .22 (2:50.50).

In the 200-meter medley relay, Roberto, Harding, Buntern and Mulvey joined together to finish in first-place with a time of 2:13.37.

For the men's squad, freshman Trevor Kozlow (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) captured first place in the 200-meter individual medley (2:24.72) and placed second in the 100-meter backstroke (1:10.38).

Senior Jack Hudson (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) finished second in the 800-meter freestyle with a time of 9:41.81 while junior Bill Ford (Towson, Md./Calvert) followed in third place with a time of 9:47.94.

Sophomore Ward Stevenson (Worton, Md./Kent County) also placed third in the 200-meter freestyle (2:12.66) and freshman Caleb Stair (Hyndman, Pa./Hyndman) touched the wall in third place in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:04.94.

The Bobcats are back in the pool at Fredonia State Invitational on December 4-6 in Fredonia, N.Y.
