FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State volleyball team finished the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference regular season undefeated and earned the No. 1 seed in the 2009 conference tournament. The Bobcats earned a first round bye and will host the semifinals and finals at Bobcat Arena this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6 and 7.

FSU, which is hosting the AMCC Tournament for the second time in the last three year's, finished off a league shedule with a perfect 10-0 record by sweeping both Medaille and Hilbert this past weekend. It's the first time the Bobcats have posted a perfect record against the AMCC since the 2004 season.

The Bobcats are 28-4 overall in 2009 and will try for 30 wins for just the seventh time in the school's history. FSU last reached 30 wins in 2004, when Frostburg State finished 30-6 and 9-0 in the league.

Frostburg State enters this year's tournament on a nine-match winning streak and has won 18 of its last 19 matches.

The Bobcats will kickoff the AMCC Tournament semifinals on Friday at 6:00 pm when they host the winner of No. 4 Penn State Altoona/No. 5 Medaille. The second semifinal match on Friday (8:00 pm) features the winners of No. 2 Penn State Behrend/No. 7 D'Youville against No. 3 Pitt-Bradford/No. 6 Pitt-Greensburg.

The tournament finals are slated for Saturday at 2:00 pm. The winner of the tournament will receive an automatic bid to the 2009 NCAA tournament.
