BUFFALO, N.Y. - The 2009 season came to a close for the Frostburg State men's soccer team with a 3-0 loss to Medaille in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament semifinals, Wednesday evening.

The fourth seeded Bobcats (12-7-1) lost to the top seeded Mavericks (16-2-2) for the second time this season after a 2-0 defeat during the regular season.

MC used a 10-minute stretch late in the first half for the victory. Alexander Rouse scored two goals in a three-minute span, starting at 33:38. Stuart Ziegler added the third and final goal of the first period at 43:47.

The Frostburg State defense tightened down in the second half, allowing 16 shots and making six saves, and kept Medaille from adding to its lead.

In all, the Mavs attempted 27 shots while the Bobcats had just 10. FSU senior Sean Jones (Pasadena, Md./Severna Park) led the team with five shots, all on goal.

FSU starting goalkeeper Stephen Cavallo (Charlotte, N.C./East Lincoln) stopped three shots and allowed all three first half goals. Freshman Abiye Jack (Baltimore, Md./Loch Raven) made six saves while playing the entire second half.

FSU finishes the season with eight wins in it's final nine games, while making its eighth-straight trip to the AMCC Tournament semifinals.
