CENTERVILLE, Md. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference announced its 2009 Division III baseball All-Stars and two Frostburg State University student-athletes were honored, Wednesday. Junior outfielder/catcher
Andrew Derr (Brunswick, Md./Brunswick) and sophomore pitcher
Trevor Conner (Dhahran, Saudi Arabia/Kent School) were both selected to the second team.
Derr, a First Team All-AMCC selection, earned his first ECAC award after leading the team in on-base percentage (.534) and runs scored (37). Derr was second on the Bobcats (25-16) in batting average (.381) and fifth in hits (37) and was a perfect 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts. In the field, he recorded 116 putouts and 14 assists for a .985 field percentage.
Conner earns his third post-season award this spring after garnering First Team All-AMCC and Third Team American Baseball Coaches Association Rawlings Mid-Atlantic All-Region honors.
Conner had a standout season with FSU after leading the team with a 1.72 ERA and a dismal opponent batting average of .221 in 57.2 innings of work. He left his mark in the Frostburg State single-season record books for winning percentage (.889), earning the second position after posting an 8-1 overall record. Those eight wins also move him into a tie for sixth place overall in the single season records, while his ERA will hold the seventh spot all-time.
The Bobcats finished second in the AMCC and earned a berth in the 2009 ECAC South Region Championship.
