Tapman Earns ECAC First Team Honors
Brooke Tapman
CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Sophomore Brooke Tapman (Pocomoke, Md./Pocomoke) earned her third honor of the year as she was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference South Softball All-Star First Team, Wednesday. She is the first Bobcat to receive the award since Ashley Martin in 2004.

A First Team AMCC selection and NFCA All-Region First Team honoree, Tapman helped the Bobcats to a 26-18 overall record and an ECAC Tournament appearance. Tapman finished the season atop the conference leaderboard in runs scored (42), hits (58), RBIs (43), homeruns (15) and total bases (118).

In only her second season with FSU, Tapman captured the career record for homeruns (21) and slugging percentage (.771). She also set single season records in eight categories with games (44), runs scored, hits, homeruns, RBIs, extra base hits (26), slugging percentage (.901) and total bases. Tapman finished the season with a .443 batting average and a .519 on-base percentage.

FSU wasn't the only AMCC school on the ECAC South All-Star list as Penn State Behrend and Pitt-Bradford made appearances as well. PSB was the most honored team as it had four selections including Julie Koman as the ECAC South Pitcher of the Year, Amy Greene was the Rookie of the Year while head coach Stacy Pondo was named the Coach of the Year. Michelle Kushner was the lone representative from Pitt-Bradford.

Tapman's selection now gives the FSU softball program four All-South region honorees and the first for head coach Wes Landrum since taking over the team in 2005.
