Davis Brings Home AMCC Men's Soccer Player of the Week Honors

GIBSONIA, Pa. - Freshman Brian Davis (Rockville, Md./Wootton) knocked home two game-winning goals last week for Frostburg State and was awarded Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week honors this week for his efforts, Monday.

Davis helped FSU (4-1) to a pair of wins last week, a come-from-behind 5-2 victory over Waynesburg and a 3-2 overtime defeat of Shenandoah.

The Bobcats battled back from an early 2-0 hole against WU and tied the contest at 2-2 at the half. Davis tallied back-to-back goals in the 76th and 80th minutes, respectively, to give FSU a 4-2 lead before eventually winning 5-2.

On Friday, Frostburg State rallied from a 2-1 deficit to Shenandoah with a late goal in the 89th minute to send the contest in overtime. Davis scored the game winner 2:14 into OT on the only shot attempted by FSU in the extra frame.

Davis leads Frostburg State with four goals and 10 points on the season and has recorded at least one point in all four of the team's wins this season.

FSU, which has won three straight, looks to keep the winning streak alive as it travels to Franklin & Marshall this Wednesday Sept. 16 at 7:00 pm.
