GROVE CITY, Pa. - Freshman
Trevor Kozlow (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) captured his first conference title as the Frostburg State men's and women's swimming teams competed on day one of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships at the Grove City College Invitational, Thursday.
Kozlow placed first in the AMCC in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:00.59, while finishing sixth overall.
Kozlow was joined by senior
Jack Hudson (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg), sophomore
Michael Stevenson (Bowie, Md./Bowie) and freshman
Caleb Stair (Hyndman, Pa./Hyndman) in the 200-yard freestyle relay to finish fourth in the conference and seventh overall (1:35.25).
Kozlow, Stair and Stevenson also teamed up with freshman
Bob Norr (Darnestown, Md./Northwest) in the 400-yard medley relay to captured third in the AMCC and finishing seventh overall with a time of 3:54.98.
For the women, freshman
Erica Minor (Upper Marlboro, Md./Bishop McNamara) posted an AMCC fourth-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:14.72.
In the women's 200-yard freestyle relay, Minor joined senior
Thirza Roberto (Pasadena, Md./Cheaspeake) and freshmen
Jessica Rice (Gransonville, Md./Kent Island) and
Samantha Mulvey (Pasadena, Md./Pasadena) to finish third in the AMCC and ninth overall (1:50.03).
Minor, Roberto, Rice and Mulvey all teamed up again in the 400-yard medley relay when they captured third in the conference and seventh overall with a time of 4:33.42.
The Bobcats are back in the pool for tomorrow, February 19 for day two of the AMCC Championships at 10:00 am.
