FROSTBURG, Md. - In a rematch of last year's AMCC Tournament opening round game, the No. 3 seed Frostburg State women's basketball team will again host No. 6 La Roche in this season's tournament first round on Tuesday, February 23 at Bobcat Arena at 6:00 pm. The Bobcats will be looking for revenge this year as they were upset by La Roche in last year's first round, 46-44, on a last second buzzer beater.

The Bobcats (18-7, 15-5) enter the 2009-10 tournament having won seven of their final nine games, including a 57-52 victory over the Redhawks (13-12, 11-9) on Feb. 3. FSU swept the regular season series with LAR, winning the first matchup 70-59 the week before Christmas.

Frostburg State heads into the tournament ranked fifth in the league in scoring offense (68.0 ppg) and tied for fourth in scoring defense (59.8 ppg). The Bobcats are first in the conference in offensive rebounds (15.8) and fourth in defensive rebounds (26.8).

La Roche enters Tuesday's contest on a small slide having lost three of its final five games starting with that 57-52 loss to FSU on Feb. 3. The Redhawks are eighth in the league in scoring (63.5) but are tied for fourth in scoring defense (59.8). LAR is also fourth in field goal percentage defense, limiting opponents to 36.7.

This year, top seed Medaille will host the semifinals and finals. The Mavericks finished the regular season 23-2 overall and a perfect 20-0 in the AMCC. Last season's tournament champion Pitt-Greensburg is the second seed and holds a 17-8 overall and a 15-5 AMCC record. Medaille earned a first round bye while UPG hosts No. 7 Pitt-Bradford (9-16, 9-11).

In the third opening round game, fourth seeded Penn State Altoona (19-6, 14-6) hosts No. 5 Penn State Behrend (14-10, 12-8) at 7:00 pm and the winner will take on Medaille.
