SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Junior
Emily Furr (Damascus, Md./Poolesville) hit the NCAA Division III provisional mark for the second time this season as the Frostburg State men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Paul Kaiser Classic, Saturday.

Furr captured first-place in the triple jump with a mark of 11.54 meters qualifying for ECAC Championships and provisionally for NCAA Division III Nationals, improving her previous distance of 11.41 meters from the Lynchburg College Invitational. She also placed second in the high jump with a height of 1.54 meters.
Joining Furr in hitting ECAC Championship qualifying standards were junior
Anne Patron (Baltimore, Md./Dulany), sophomore
David Thomas and senior
Tarik Muhammad (Pittsville, Md./Riverside).
Patron finished in second-place in the 5,000-meter run with a ECAC Championship qualifying time of 18:22.12.
Muhammad placed fourth in the 400-meter dash qualifying for ECAC Championships with a time of 50.05 while Thomas finished in second-place in the long jump with a ECAC Championship qualifying distance of 6.89 meters. Thomas also placed third in the 100-meter dash (11.06) and second in the 200-meter dash (22.57).
Senior
Gwen Massey (Thorofare, N.J./West Deptford) captured third in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:25.07, only .08 seconds shy of breaking the FSU school record.
Joining Muhammad in the 400-meter dash was sophomore
Sean Wright (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen), who finished in sixth-place with a time of 50.84.
In the 800-meter run, sophomore Charles Jacobs (Baltimore, Md./Aberdeen) placed fifth with a time of 1.56.46 while classmate
Gavin Caupp (Frostburg, Md./Mt. Ridge) captured third in the 3,000-meter run (9:00.89).
Senior
Steven Flanagan (Cumberland, Md./Fort Hill) finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.62 and senior
Aaron Scanlon (Baltimore, Md./Dundalk) placed ninth in the discus throw with a mark of 38.87 meters.
In the men's 4x400-meter relay, Wright, Muhammad and Jacobs teamed up with sophomore
Markese Hayden (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) to finished in third-place with an ECAC Championship qualifying time of 3:21.02.
The FSU track & field teams are back in action at the Mason-Dixon Conference Championships in Salisbury Md. on April 30 and May 1st.
