Procida Tabbed Jewish Sports Review All-American for Second-Straight Year

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Former Frostburg State senior defender Davia Procida (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) has been tabbed as a Jewish Sports Review 2010 All-America College Women's Lacrosse First Team selection for the second-straight year.

Procida is one of 11 first-team selections and she joins four other players from the state of Maryland on the first team. The All-American college division consists of players from both the NCAA Division II and III levels.

Procida helped the Bobcats to a 9-8 record and an appearance in the 2010 ECAC Tournament. It was the squad's first postseason appearance since 2001 and the 13th time in the program's 45-year history that the team finished with nine or more wins.

She started all 16 games and finished second on the team in both groundballs (65) and caused turnovers (32). She scored her lone goal in FSU's 19-6 win over Division II Shepherd in late April.

Procida started in every game she played (62) and totaled 189 groundballs, 82 caused turnovers and 10 goals over her four-year career.

Joining Procida on the first team from the state of Maryland is Maryanne and Carly Glass (Pikesville, Md.) from Chestnut Hill College, Sarah Remes (Silver Spring, Md.) from Trinity (Conn.) College and Julia Schreiber (Cockeysville, Md.) from Williams College.
