Frostburg State Women's Track & Field Selected as All-Academic Team

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Frostburg State University women's track & field team earned the distinction of being a 2010 Division III All-Academic team as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), Tuesday.
To earn the status, teams must collect a cumulative grade point average of 3.1 or higher and the Bobcats posted a 3.13 overall team GPA. A total of 106 schools were awarded All-Academic status based on their GPA's and FSU is joined by fellow Capital Athletic Conference members Salisbury (3.33) and Hood (3.23) on the list.
Bobcat freshman Lydia Valenta (Frostburg, Md./Homeschool) led the team with a 4.0 GPA followed by junior Anne Patron (Baltimore, Md./Dulany) with a 3.929 and freshman Sierra Wassell (Westernport, Md./Mountain Ridge) with a 3.921.
Haverford led all institutions with a 3.66 team cumulative GPA, followed by Ursinus with a 3.61.
