FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State men’s soccer team suffered a slim 1-0 loss to Eastern Mennonite in the consolation game of the FSU Tournament, Saturday afternoon.

Mitchell Leap netted the game’s only goal to hand the Royals (1-2) their first win of the young season. Leap accepted a pass from Brendan Jeschke and slipped it past Bobcat keeper
Stephen Cavallo (Charlotte, N.C./East Lincoln) for a 1-0 lead in the 60th minute.
FSU (0-3) had a corner kick two minutes later and sent several passes into the 18-yard box over the rest of the second half but was unable to capitalize.
Sophomores
Shawn Baker (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) and
Dillon Muise (Germantown, Md./Clarksburg) each had two shots for Bobcats and Cavallo finished with six saves.
After a scoreless first half that featured nine shots, including five from FSU, Eastern Mennonite turned up the pressure in the second. The Royals attempted five second-half shots with four on goal.
Frostburg State returns to the field on Friday, September 10 when it hosts Shenandoah 7:00 pm.
