Men 20th, Women 27th in NCAA Track & Field Dual Meet Rankings

FROSTBURG, Md. – Both the men’s and women’s track and field teams appear in the initial NCAA Division III Track and Field Team Dual Meet Rankings.  The men are currently ranked 20th with 83.75 points, while the women are 27th with 40.80 points.

The men are also ranked sixth in the Mideast Region, just behind in-state rival Salisbury.  Salisbury is the only other Capital Athletic Conference squad in the rankings.

In the Bobcats’ first two meets of the season at West Virginia University they have been led by senior Patrick Pinchinat.  Pinchinat, the reigning CAC Track Athlete of the Week, has already qualified for the ECAC Championships in the 60-meter dash (7.10) and has collected six top-five finishes, two wins, and a runner-up finish so far.

Senior Wes Jacobs has also come out of the gates strong.  Jacobs was named the CAC Track Athlete of the Week for the week of December 6.  Jacobs has recorded a win in the 500-meter dash (1:07.69) and a second-place finish in the 800-meters (2:00.59).

The women’s team is also ranked eighth in the Mideast Region.  Johns Hopkins is the No. 1 ranked team and fellow CAC member Salisbury is ranked third.

Senior Amy Brennan has collected the team’s only victory this season in the 200-meter dash (27.52).  She also finished fourth in the 60-meter dash (8.48) last weekend at the WVU State Farm Games.  Morgan Carroll also collected fourth-place finishes in the 400-meter dash (1:02.70) and the high jump (1.53 meters).

The Bobcats are sending two freshmen, Devin Francillon and Alex Patterson, to the Ursinus Pentathlon this afternoon.  The rest of the Bobcats return to the track this weekend at the Bison Open & Multi at Bucknell University.
