Women's Cross Country Earns 6th at CAC Championship

FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State women’s cross country team earned a sixth place finish at the Capital Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday afternoon.

Junior Jen Bower was the Bobcats’ top finisher with a time of 28:23.60 to earn 54th place and improved on her 65th place finish at 31:36.52 in last year’s CAC Championships.
 
The next runners for the Bobcats finished in a pack as freshman Morgan Carroll earned  60th place at 29:13.05 and sophomore Bryn Allston crossed the line right after Caroll at 29:19.07 to earn a 61st finish. Freshman Sidney Castro closed out the pack finishing at 29:45.78 for a 63rd finish. Sophomore Amy Brennan (71st, 31:17.73) and freshman Erika Watson (86th, 41:33.74) finished the scoring for Frostburg.
 
The University of Mary Washington took home the conference title after finishing with 29 points edging out second place finisher York (Pa.) with 35 points. Salisbury University finished in third place with 70 points and St. Mary’s found a fourth place finish compiling 114 points, followed by Marymount (148 points). Frostburg State totaled 177 points for its sixth place finish while Wesley earned seventh place with 194 points.

The Bobcats return to action during the NCAA III Mideast Regional in Newville, Pa. on November 10, 2012. A preview will be made available before the meet.
