MARIETTA, Ohio – The Frostburg State men’s track & field team posted two wins and a handful of top-five finishes at the Marietta Open, Friday evening.

Senior Wes Jacobs paced the Bobcats’ individual efforts with a victory in the 1,000-meter run in 2:37.03.
The foursome of junior Chauncey Manson, senior Jordan Calloway, junior Yvon Raymond and junior Xzavier Robertson cruised to a victory in the 4x200-meter relay in 1:35.50, nearly three seconds faster than the second place team from Mount St. Joseph.
Freshman Devin Francillon was second in the 500-meter dash in 1:10.48 while classmate Chris Rickell finished third in the high jump with a season-best 1.87 meters.
Five different Bobcats captured fourth-place finishes; Manson in the 200-meter dash (season best 22.98), junior Jermaine Johnson in the 300-meter dash (39.08), sophomore Eric Williams in the 800-meter dash (2:03.38), freshman Alex Patterson in the 55-meter hurdles (8.87) and freshman Anthony Hayden in the 1,000-meter run in 2:47.26.
Rounding out the top-five efforts were freshmen Torez Cooke, junior Miguel Montano, and junior Justin Fama.
Cooke grabbed fifth in the 300-meter dash (40.27), Montano was fifth in the 1,000-meter run (2:51.39) and Fama turned in fifth in the 55-meter hurdles (9.12).
The Frostburg women’s team added four top-five finishes, including a runner up showing in the distance medley relay. The team of Gabbi Maher, Bryn Allston, Amy Brennan and Jen Bower grabbed second with a time of 15:36.80.
Sophomore Samantha Taylor grabbed the highest individual finish after taking fourth in the pole vault in 2.89 meters.
Brennan recorded fifth place in the 200-meter dash (27.71) while sophomore Ericka Randolph cracked the top-10 with a sixth place finish in the shot put in 9.80 meters.
Frostburg returns to action on Sunday, February 12, at the Susquehanna Invitational at 10:00 am.
