Swimming Squads Drop Season Finale to Marymount

Arlington, Va. - Despite two more individual victories from freshman Hannah Edler, the Frostburg State women’s swimming team dropped their final meet of the regular season, 120-50, at Marymount.  The men were also defeated 104-47.

Meet Results

Edler swept the 50-yard freestyle (26.16) and the 100-yard freestyle (57.48) for the sixth time this season.  She has won every 50-freestyle that she has raced in during the Capital Athletic Conference season.  Edler did not compete in the season-opening meet at Salisbury.

Erica Minor picked up four points for Frostburg as she finished second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:10.12).  Elizabeth Jarrell also swam to a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (6:40.62).

The men were led by Caleb Stair and Jesse Gregory.  Stair swam a season-best 56.11 in the 100-yard butterfly to earn the win, while Gregory picked a victory in the 100-yard freestyle (52.91).  Gregory and Stair teamed up with Vincent Faiella and Zawdie Coke in the 200-yard freestyle relay to finish second (1:38.25).

The meet concluded the regular season for the Bobcats.  Frostburg returns to the pool Feb. 17-19 for the CAC Championships held at St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
