Trio Hit ECAC Marks at 6th Annual Gator Invitational

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Behind a strong performance in the sprints, the Frostburg State men’s track & field team captured three Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship qualifying marks at the Sixth Annual Gator Invitational at Allegheny College, Friday.

Junior Xzavier Robertson had arguably the best outing of the 11 Bobcats that competed. Robertson earned fourth place in the 100-meter dash preliminaries in a career best and ECAC mark of 10.94. In the finals, he finished sixth at 10.97 and slipped under the ECAC mark again.

FSU hit two ECAC marks and two top-five finishes in the 200-meter dash as junior Chauncey Manson (fourth place) and senior Patrick Pinchinat (fifth place) posted identical times of 22.13.

Robertson, Manson, Pinchinat and junior Yvon Raymond combined for a season best and ECAC mark in the 4x100-meter relay. The foursome earned second place in 42.17.

A pair of freshman earned 12th place for Frostburg State as Devin Francillon turned in 56.52 in the 400-meter hurdles while Seth Stine tossed the javelin 48.38 meters.

Sophomore Eric Williams earned 16th place in the 400-meter dash in a season best 51.23, classmate Patrick Mead was 17th in the 1,500-meter run (4:14.78) and senior Jesse Henderson was 18th in the 5,000-meter run in a season best 16:04.77.

Senior Anne Patron was the lone female to participate for the Bobcats as she earned 16th in the 1,500-meter run in 5:14.95.

FSU travels to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) this Thursday and Friday for the ECAC Division III Championships. A full preview of the ECAC Championships will be available this week.
