FSU Grabs Five All-CAC Awards

YORK, Pa. – The 2012 All-Capital Athletic Conference Track & Field teams have been released and Frostburg State grabbed five total awards on this year’s first and second teams.

Senior Patrick Pinchinat led the charge by being selected to the first team after winning the 100-meter dash at last weekend’s conference championships. Pinchinat finished first in the 100 preliminaries on Saturday night (10.93) and followed it up with a win in the finals on Saturday. He crossed the line in a season best and with an ECAC mark of 10.86.

Pinchinat earned his second all-conference award when he took second in the 200-meter dash with an ECAC mark of 22.00.

The Bobcat field events earned the final three All-CAC awards.

Freshman Chris Rickell, who just missed all-conference honors during the indoor championships, earned second place in the high jump to earn second team all-conference honors. He cleared a career best and ECAC qualifying height of 1.93 meters (6ft. 4in.).

Junior Christian Smith earned Second Team All-CAC honors for the second time this year. Smith finished second in the shot put with a toss of 14.10 meters (46ft. 3.25in.) at the outdoor championships last Sunday. He earned second place and second-team honors at the indoor championships in February with a distance of 13.95 meters.

Freshman Seth Stine posted a career best at the outdoor championships and took home second-team honors for his efforts. He posted second in the javelin with a throw of 50.90 meters (167ft. 00in.), over two meters past his previous career best.
