FROSTBURG, Md – The Frostburg State men’s and women’s cross country teams hosted its first home meet under the tenure of head coach Dale Luy, Saturday morning. The men placed sixth while the women put up a seventh place finish.

The men finished with 176 points while the women finished with 213.
On the men’s side, Capital Athletic Conference foe, York (Pa.) brought home the invitational title with 44 points while Salisbury (48 pts.) and Mary Washington (51 pts.) rounded out the top three places.
Senior Gavin Caupp battled for a 16
th place finish at 29:32.60. Freshman Josh Biser finished the race at 32.34.50 for a 63
rd place finish while classmate Jeremy Brown crossed the line at 33:00.00 for 68
th place for the Bobcats.
Sophomore Jon Stewart finished at 33:34.50 for a 72
nd place finish and freshmen Gregory Horning (34:18.00) and Adam Jenkins (34:21.40) finished 75
th and 76
th, respectively for the Bobcats. Freshman Ryan Hipps rounded out the scoring runners for FSU with a 81
st place finish at 35:44.80 while freshman JT Bowling took 82
nd at 35:58.10.
For the women, Gettysburg won the invitational with a commanding 25 points while Mary Washington (52) and York (Pa.) (69) took second and third.
Junior Jen Bower posted the highest finish for the Bobcats with a 58
th place time at 28:32.31. Freshman Morgan Carroll finished at the course at 39:32.27 for a 71
st place finish while freshman Sidney Castro took 81
st at 31:14.02.
Sophomore Bryn Allston crossed the line at 32:30.64 and freshman Erika Watson rounded out the Bobcat runners with a 97th place finish at 41:02.99.
The Bobcats return to action next weekend when the teams compete at the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational, Saturday Sept. 29.
