FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Frostburg State men's soccer team advanced to the semifinals of the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament with a 1-0 win over Mary Washington, Saturday.

The Bobcats (12-5, 4-4 CAC) avenged a 2-0 defeat to Mary Washington (12-7, 5-3 CAC) last weekend to capture their third-consecutive berth in the CAC semifinals.
After a first half in which neither team scored and each team recorded only three shots, it was FSU that got on the board early in the second frame.
Senior Pablo Torrano scored his seventh goal of the season at 48:08 to give the Bobcats what turned out to be a decisive 1-0 lead. Fellow senior Chris Jones picked out Torrano's diagonal run into the box and Torrano beat the Eagles keeper for the game-winner.
Frostburg held a slight 9-8 edge in shots over UMW for the match, while the Eagles held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks. Torrano led FSU with four shots, including three on goal. Senior Kevin Murphy and freshman Jacob Burke each recorded two shots for the Eagles.
Freshman goalkeeper Hassan Mostafa recorded three saves for the Bobcats, and fellow freshman keeper Ian Waltz made two saves in the losing effort.
The Bobcats will return to action for the CAC semifinals when they travel to take on top-seeded Salisbury on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
