SALISBURY, Md. – For the second-consecutive year the Frostburg State men's cross country team earned a fifth-place finish at the Capital Athletic Conference Championships, which were held at Salisbury on Saturday.
Results
The Bobcats were led by senior Pat Mead who was the first FSU runner to cross the finish line of the 8k course. Mead earned First Team All-CAC honors and improved by 10 positions from his junior season after recording a season-best fifth-place finish (26:15.60).
Freshman Brandon Redmond was the next Bobcat to finish, as he came in 42
nd place with a time of 27:41.20. He was followed closely by fellow freshman Stanton Higham in 48
th place (27:54.40).
The fourth FSU runner to cross the line was sophomore Daniil Repchenko, who finished 69
th overall with a time of 28:49.00. The final Bobcat to place on the day was junior Jonathan Stewart. Stewart came in 71
st place overall with a time of 28:55.60.
Frostburg, as a team, finished fifth overall with 153 points. York (Pa.) finished first overall with 33 points to win the CAC Championship. Christopher Newport finished second with 50, Salisbury came in third with 85, and Mary Washington came in fourth with 85 points.
The Bobcats will return to action on Nov. 16 for the NCAA Mideast Regional at Lehigh University.
