CHESTERFIELD, Va. – The Frostburg State men's and women's swimming teams both captured ninth place at the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jacket Invitational that wrapped up action late Saturday.

The FSU women grabbed ninth out of 13 teams with 99 points while the men earned ninth of 11 squads with 41 points.
Junior Kaitlyn Donch and sophomore Jonathan Shepard each posted a pair of top-10 finishes to lead the women's and men's teams, respectively.
Donch grabbed the highest finish for any Bobcat swimmer with a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:12.32. She collected fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:38.19.
Donch also helped a pair of relay teams to top-10 finishes. She joined sophomore Maci Quintanilla, junior Jaclyn Franzak and junior Meredith Johnson for a ninth-place showing in the 200-yard medley in 2:01.89. Donch, Quintanilla and Johnson later joined junior Elizabeth Jarrell to earn 10th place in the 400-yard freestyle relay at 4:01.09.
Individually, Franzak captured 12th in the 100-yard butterfly (1:05.81) and Quintanilla grabbed 13th in the 200-yard backstroke (2:26.17). Freshman Meaghan Dix took home 14th in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:48.08.
Shepard led the men's team with sixth place in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:16.8) and seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.13).
Senior Jesse Gregory handed in a pair of solid individual efforts with 12th place in the 400-yard IM (4:42.69) and 19th in the 200-yard IM (2:10.57).
Gregory and Shepard combined with senior Vincent Faiella and freshman Aleksander Combs for 13th in the 800-yard freestyle relay (8:18.62). The foursome also earned 16th in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:50.46.
The Frostburg State swimming teams return to action on Jan. 10 when they take on Franciscan and Pitt-Bradford in Steubenville, Ohio at 6:00 pm.
