The victory hands Frostburg the FSU Tournament crown for the third-straight year as they open the 2013 season, 2-0.

After needing a late goal in double overtime to defeat Grove City on Friday night, Frostburg didn't need quite as much time as it set the tempo early against UPG.

FSU jumped out to a 12-2 lead in shots before netting a pair of late first-half goals for a 2-0 halftime advantage. Senior Chris Jones slid a pass across the top of the six-yard box to classmate Kunle Akinfeleye, who found the net for the game's first tally at 38:02.

Frostburg kept the pressure on and scored again just moments later (42:29). Inside the 18-yard box, senior Brandon Rodgers dropped a pass back to a hard charging Chris Herbert who flipped a shot over a diving goalkeeper for the 2-0 lead.

FSU held a 16-2 edge in shots in the opening half and posted a 10-0 advantage in shots in the second half, but didn't add to the goal total.

Freshman Hassan Mostafa started in goal for the Bobcats and needed to stop just one shot for his first collegiate win. Pitt-Greensburg's Brandon Galley had another solid game in net posting six saves, while suffering the loss. He finished the tournament with 15 saves in two days.

Frostburg will try and open the season 3-0 when it hosts Bethany on Wednesday, September 4 at 7:00 pm.
