FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Frostburg State men's cross country team took eighth at the Capital Athletic Conference Championship meet, Saturday morning with 219 team points.
Full meet resultsSalisbury took home the CAC crown with 42 points while Christopher Newport (50 points) and York (Pa.) (55) finished second and third in the championship meet.
Freshman Brad Baker was the top Bobcat finisher with a 56
th place time of 26:59.9, his career best time in an 8,000-meter race. Junior Daniil Repchenko took 67
th overall and second for Frostburg with a season-best time of 27:21.8 while sophomore Colin Quinn was the third Bobcat to cross the finish line with a season-best time of 27:33.1 for a 71
st place finish.
Sophomore Stanton Higham and senior Jonathan Stewart finished 78
th and 79
th for Frostburg right after one another as Higham crossed the line at 27.49.2 and Stewart at 27:49.9. Both times were season best for the Frostburg runners.
Freshman Gordon Bickerstaff (27:53.5 – 82
nd) and junior Gregory Horning (28:08.9 – 84
th) both recorded season-best times for Frostburg as Bickerstaff rounded out the top-five runners for Frostburg and Horning finished sixth for the Bobcats.
Sophomore Xavier Alvarez finished 88
th with a time of 28:11 while junior Adam Jenkins took 90
th with a time of 28:16.6. Freshman Gartee Guar posted a personal-best time of 28:35.1 for a 93
rd place finish and freshman Ben Allston took 95
th with a time of 28:50.7. Junior Ryan Hipps (28:50.7 – 98
th), freshman Justin Harreld (28:56.1 – 100
th) and junior Jeremy Brown (29:04.4 – 103) rounded out the Bobcat runners.
Frostburg State returns to action in two weeks when the Bobcats travel to the NCAA Mideast Regional on November 15 in Newville, Pa.
