200 Medley Relay Record Falls Again On Day Two of CAC Championships

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The women's 200-yard medley relay team set the school record for the second-consecutive year to highlight the Frostburg State men's and women's swimming teams on the second day of the 2014 CAC Championships, Saturday. The Bobcat men and women both remain in sixth place following the second day of competition.

Meet Results

The foursome of juniors Kaitlyn Donch, Jaclyn Franzak and Meredith Johnson along with sophomore Maci Quintanilla earned fourth place in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:55.16 to capture a school record for the second year in a row.

Individually, Donch led both teams with a third-place showing in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:08.46, while Johnson and Franzak both took home 11th-place showings. Johnson was 11th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:04.65), while Franzak was 11th in the 100-yard butterfly (1:04.28).

Sophomore Jonathan Shepard posted the highest finish for the men on the second day, taking seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:01.28. Senior Jesse Gregory grabbed 10th in the 400-yard IM in 4:30.38.

Together, Gregory and Shepard were joined by senior Vincent Faiella and freshman Aleksander Combs for sixth place in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:48.25.

Frostburg State returns to action tomorrow for the third and final day of the CAC Championships.
