FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State men's track & field team claimed seven wins at its 2016 Bobcat Invitational at a windy Bobcat Stadium, Saturday.
Meet Results Junior JR Lowery totaled a pair of wins, two ECAC marks and another school record. He won both the shot put (16.34 meters/) and hammer throw (54.70 meters/179ft. 5in.), hit ECAC-qualifying marks in both and broke his own school record in the hammer.
Junior Patrick Broussoul continued Frostburg's dominance in the throwing events with a win in the discus at 37.94 meters (124ft. 6in.).
In the jumps, sophomore Collin Schultz took home the win in the high jump at 1.88 meters (6ft. 2in.) and freshman Shamar Nelson won the long jump at 6.69 meters (21ft. 11.5in.).
On the track, the Bobcats rounded out their seven wins with two victories. Junior Hossein Hakimi won the 400-meter dash in 52.17, while the 4x100-meter relay team of sophomores Malik Harris and Devon Fairhall joined freshmen Matt Robinson and Teon Archer for a win and a spot in the ECAC Championships in 43.26.
Fairhall added to his numbers on the individual side of things with runner-up showings in both the 100-meter (11.24) and 200-meter dashes (23.15). Robinson added second in the 400-meter hurdles (58.91), while freshman Robert Romano was second in the 800-meter run (2:04.35).
In the throws, sophomore Matt Deb took second in the discus (37.86 meters/124ft. 2in.) and freshman Hakim Warney was second in the shot (12.04 meters/53ft. 7.5in.).
