Frostburg Women Post Four Wins

FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg State hosted the 2016 version of the Bobcat Invitational at a windy Bobcat Stadium, Saturday, and the women's track & field team registered four wins and 13 top-five finishes.
 
Meet Results
 
Sophomore Kayla Truesdel led the way with two individual wins and a relay victory. She opened her competition with a victory in the 100-meter dash with a 12.66, just 0.01 off an ECAC Championship pace. However in her second event, the 200-meter dash, she posted a win with an ECAC-qualifying time of 25.65.
 
Truesdel, along with teammates Amy Virostek (junior), Destiny Logan (sophomore) and freshman Samantha Gittere (freshman) captured a win in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:13.98.
 
Freshman Heather Martin collected the Bobcats' fourth win with the pole vault title in 2.59 meters (8ft. 6in.).
 
Sophomore thrower Zoe Harris totaled a pair of runner-up finishes as she captured second in the shot put (9.72 meters/31ft. 10.75 in.) and second in the javelin (33.19 meters/108ft. 11in.). It's a season-best in the shot.
 
Individually, Virostek took second place in the 400-meter hurdles (1:12.70), while Gittere was third in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.82.
 
Taking fourth place were freshman Holly Van Wie and Jayla Jones. Van Wie captured her fourth-place finish in the hammer throw (31.42 meters/105ft. 7in.), while Jones' came in the 400-meter dash (1:12.07).
