PERRY, N.Y. – Frostburg State men's lacrosse players Tom Kraemer and Spenser Love have been named United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Scholar All-Americans, as announced by the organization.
A number of criteria are required to be selected as a Scholar All-American, including a cumulative GPA of 3.0 through his senior year, behavior on and off the field, and he must be an All-American, a member of the North/South team, or an outstanding league or conference player. Kraemer and Love are two of just five athletes selected from the Capital Athletic Conference.
Kraemer, a Salisbury, Md. native, finished his college career with a 3.389 cumulative GPA in information technology. He finished second in the conference in goals-against average (6.92) and save percentage (0.558). Kraemer also helped the Bobcats to a conference-best man-down defense (0.822). An All-CAC Second Team selection and 2016 Face-Off Yearbook Preseason All-American prior to the start of the season, he was also named a USILA All-American following the 2015 season.
Love, a mechanical engineering major and Westminster, Md. native, finished his college career with a 3.743 cumulative GPA. As FSU's all-time leading goal scorer, Love holds the program record for goals (131) and is second all-time with 192 points and fourth all-time with 61 assists. He led the Bobcats this season with 34 goals and 27 assists for 61 points, and was named to the All-CAC Second Team.
Kraemer and Love helped the Bobcats to a 15-4 overall record and a semifinal game in the CAC Tournament.
