My name is Peter Letourneau, and I am the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at Frostburg State University. Frostburg State University is an NCAA Division III institution and our volleyball team competes in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC).
FSU is located in the beautiful mountains of Western Maryland, an easy two-hour drive from Washington, Baltimore and Pittsburgh. FSU offers a wide range of academic disciplines to meet your academic interests. As a student-athlete, it is important for you to know that FSU has a reputation as a university with very high student-athlete graduation rate and for an ability to place students after graduation.
As head coach, my priority is to assist our team members to have an excellent learning experience on the court and in the classroom. I believe that athletics and academics do go together to give the student-athlete a positive, well-rounded college experience with life-long memories.
The FSU volleyball program has earned a reputation for excellence, and we are looking for student-athletes that expect the best. Over the past five years, the Bobcats have compiled a record of 172-47 (.785), and we have won the AMCC championship six times in the last seven years. FSU volleyball has earned a berth to the NCAA Division III National Tournament five out of the last six years and has advanced into the second round four times.
We finished our 2004 season with a record of 30-6, including a perfect 9-0 in our conference, and earned a No. 4 ranking in the Mid-Atlantic Region. We also received a bid to the 2004 NCAA Tournament, as the No. 4 seed in the region, where we defeated Salisbury 3-1 in the first round before falling to Juniata, the No. 1 ranked team in the nation and eventual national champion, in the second round.
