FROSTBURG, Md. - Frostburg State University junior forward Lauren Russell has been selected to the 2009 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division III Women All-Great Lakes Region third team. Russell, the fifth all-region selection in FSU women's soccer history, garners her second all-region honor after being selected to the second team in 2007.

CAPE COD, Mass. - The ECAC announced its 2009 ECAC Division III South Women's All-Stars and Frostburg State University junior forward Lauren Russell was named the Offensive Player of the Year while Bobcat freshman Amanda Wharton nabbed the league's Rookie of the Year honor. Senior Lauren Lentine accompanied the duo as an all-star as she was selected to the second team. The three are the first ECAC All-Stars in the history of the FSU women's soccer program.

GIBSONIA, Pa. - Frostburg State University junior forward Lauren Russell became the seventh player in the program's history to win the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Year award on Tuesday. FSU freshman Amanda Wharton is the fourth Bobcat to win the AMCC Newcomer of the Year honor as the conference released the All-AMCC teams. The 2009 league champions placed six on the all-conference teams with four players on the first team and one each on the second and honorable mentions teams.

FROSTBURG, Md. - For the first time since 2005, Frostburg State women's soccer earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament after winning the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship by defeating Penn State Altoona, 1-0, in overtime and will play the No. 1 ranked in the Great Lakes region in the opening round of the 2009 NCAA Division III tournament, as announced by the NCAA on Monday.

GIBSONIA, Pa. - Junior Lauren Russell earned the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference women's soccer Player of the Week honor for the third time this season and sophomore Michelle Buckmaster earned goalkeeper of the week honors for the week of November 9, Monday, after helping the Bobcats to the conference championship.
