2010 Game Schedule
Friday, Nov. 12
Lebanon Valley 3, Ithaca 1 - Box Score - 12:30 pm
Emily Hopkins had 20 kills, Emily Perkins handed out 43 assists and Angel Kuperavage scopped up 21 digs as Lebanon Valley earned a 3-1 win over Ithaca in the opening game of the 2010 NCAA Volleyball Regional. LVC won games one and two, 25-10 and 25-17, but Ithaca stayed alive with a close 26-24 win in the third. The Dutchmen closed out the match with a 25-23 victory in the fourth set.

Juniata 3, Cabrini 0 - Box Score - 3:00 pm
As a team, Juniata hit .319 and limited Cabrini to a .043 hitting percentage as the Eagles captured a 3-0 victory in the second match of the NCAA Volleyball Regional at Frostburg State University. Drew Barnhardt led all players with 13 kills and Courtney Greenberg had a game-high 20 assists as JC captured a 25-9, 25-17, 25-15 win.

The first semifinal of the second day is all set as the Juniata College Eagles will take on the Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen at 3:30 pm at the Cordts PE Center.

SUNY Cortland 3, Case Western 2 - Box Score - 5:30 pm
In a back-and-forth match that featured 14 lead changes and 40 ties, the Red Dragons of SUNY Cortland held off a hard charging Case Western squad for a 3-2 win in the third match of the NCAA Volleyball Regional at Frostburg State. Cortland won the first two sets, 26-24 and 25-18, and appeared to be in control, however, the Spartans had other ideas and battled back to tie it at two games with 25-23 and 25-17 victories. In the decisive fifth game, the Red Dragons slowly pulled away and earned a 15-11 win. Ashley Coyle had 27 kills and a team-high 16 digs to pace the Cortland attack that hit .264 for the set.

Frostburg State 3, Pitt-Bradford 0 - Box Score - 8:00 pm
Sarah Stephens and Jamie Thomas had 14 and 11 kills, respectively, to lead the Frostburg State volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of Pitt-Bradford in the NCAA Regional at Frostburg. The Bobcats hit .278, including .378 in game two to earn the win. Game one was the closest of the match as FSU won 25-22. Frostburg posted 25-14 and 25-18 wins in the final two sets.

Frostburg State and SUNY Cortland will now square off in the semifinals tomorrow night at 6:00 pm.


Saturday, Nov. 13
Juniata 3, Lebanon Valley 0 - Box Score - 3:30 pm
Steph Strauss handed out 32 assists had eight kills, hit .727 and had five digs to power Juniata to a 3-0 win over Lebanon Valley in the first semifinal match on Saturday afternoon. As a team , Juniata hit .346, including .543 in the first set, and posted game scores of 25-15, 25-22, 25-19. Drew Barnhart led all players with 10 kills and Taylor Harpster added nine digs in the Eagle victory.

Frostburg State 3, SUNY Cortland 2 - Box Score - 6:00 pm
The second semifinal of the day went back-and-forth between Frostburg State and SUNY Cortland. FSU jumped ahead 1-0 (25-20), but Cortland evened the match with a 25-13 win in the second behind a .478 hitting percentage. The Bobcats surged ahead 2-1 after a slim 25-23 win in the third, only to watch the Red Dragons again tie the match with a 25-21 win in the fourth. However, Frostburg State raced out to a 9-3 edge in the fifth before earning a 15-10 win. Sarah Stephens had 17 kills and Sabrina Winterling finished with 13. Ashley Coyle smacked 22 kills and had 24 digs in the losing effort for SUNY Cortland.


Sunday, Nov. 14
Championship Game
Juniata 3, Frostburg State 0 - Box Score - 4:00 pm
Seven different players had a kill for top seed Juniata as it downed Frostburg State, 3-0, in the 2010 NCAA Volleyball Regional championship Sunday afternoon. Setter Steph Strauss filled up the stats sheet with 28 assists, seven kills, six digs and four blocks assists. Drew Barnhart had six kills, eight digs and three aces while Libby Morrison totaled 20 digs. All three earned All-Tournament honors while Barnhart was honored with the tournament's Most Outstanding Player award.

The Eagles defeated FSU by scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-14 and advance to the finals at Washington University in St. Louis next weekend, Nov. 19-21.
